Orangi Gavin is a Clinical Pharmacist and Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) specialist with expertise in antimicrobial resistance (AMR), oncology pharmacy, and health systems strengthening. He holds degrees in Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmacy, and Public Health, and has extensive experience advancing stewardship practices within county and referral healthcare systems in Kenya.
As Secretary and Health Systems Strengthening Specialist, he supports coordination of OHAAN activities and contributes to the integration of antimicrobial stewardship into healthcare systems. His work focuses on strengthening stewardship implementation, improving antimicrobial use, and supporting multidisciplinary approaches to AMR response.
He has led county-level AMS programmes, embedding stewardship into routine clinical care and supporting healthcare teams in improving prescribing practices.
He has contributed to national AMR efforts through Ministry of Health Kenya-led initiatives and continues to support partner-driven AMS programmes aligned to national priorities.
